22BR Fast Twist

Looking for some ideas on my next build. I have a Rem 700 VSFF in 22-250,high round count, as a donee.
I want to shoot 80-90 gr. 22 for some long range varminting. I was thinking 22-250 AI.. But now I'm thinking 22BR 7twist, 26" rem varmint contor.
Will the BR have enough oomph to push the 90's? Or is there a better .22 cal. Hot rod?

TIA

I have a 22BR 14twist on a Hall action (14# gun) that really shoots & a 6BR so I have the basic reloading tools too.

Had a 1:8 twist that shot 80s and 82s real well. Didn't give up much on velocity to a 22-250 but much more accurate and better on bbl life

That's what I was thinking. My Hall 22BR with the 14 twist is deadly with 40's at 3800. Shoots 50's darn good too. Just want to stretch it out a bit more.

my first 22 BR was an 8 twist and after trying many bullets it decided to one hole ONLY 77 smks at 3100 fps. i took it to the varmint field and discovered two bad things. (1) the wind can blow the 77s off a lot at 300+ yrds (2) there are no heavy 22 cal varmint bullets (amax and nbt bullets might work), so hits were usually 22 cal in and 22 cal out. too many ghogs got to their hole to die. getting a 22 BR to humanely kill a varmint at long range is a bit tricky. i have a 14 tw that will push a 60 gr at 3600 fps and my longest kill is now at 343 yds and it can do this at 400. i love the 22 BR.

The cartridge will do quite a bit more........accuracy loads with RL15, W748, VV133 and 50's are from 3800-4000.......40X barrel, 14 twist/27" long

Yes it will, I agree. It's driving tacks where it's at. 24" Lihja, I bought the rifle out of an estate in WY. The old timer had it dialed so I never messed with it much. I use it for sage rats, chucks & PD's. It's really a unfair advantage, I do miss a few but the rifle doesn't.. Lol

It appears I'm going to put the fast twist on hold for awhile... Im dealing on a 260 rem. so I'll be working on that.
