22BR brass length question

I have been neck turning my 22BR brass and trimming to a length of 1.550. I just noticed in one of my books that the brass length is supposed to be 1.520 so this got me nervous because I bought the barrel used and have no details on the chamber. I was told there is a tool to check it but I used my bore scope and a fired piece of brass chambered, does this pic look like perfect clearance? This is with 1.550 brass... still looks like about .030 to .050 clearance to me.

Donna about that clearance, but I think you could let it grow a bit.
What borescope ?
Pic looks very clear.

There are “old” 22BR reamers that are based off the Remington chambers using Remington brass that calls for that brass oal of about 1.520” The later version is designed for lapua brass with longer neck. All I can recommend is a chamber cast and actually measure what you have.
If the barrel is chambered for the Remington brass and you use lapua brass there WILL be “clickers” within 2-3 firings due to the .200 line dimensions. Ask me how I know. LOL

Teslong, bought on Amazon. Took awhile to get the mirror focused but hard to keep the lint off it,... it's tiny. I kinda hate owning it, I see things that freak me out but I shouldn't worry about like the firecracking in that barrel... still shoots good.

Every chamber I've gauged has been at least 5 thou. over book max length.
Most of my chambers (reamer) are cut "at least" .020 OVER max trim length. Get the chamber plugs, measure yours, write that figure down and refer to that figure BEFORE you even think about trimming.
I use the chamber plugs for every caliber I shoot. No Guess Work. ;)

I just made a gauge to check my 22BR rifles. It uses a modified case for the Hornady OAL tool.
