224 valkrie.

I picked this rifle up few years ago when they first came out. I don't much like a AR platform and was more interested in the cartridge itself. The rifle was used mostly for when I ran my dogs and used it to stop coyote from crossing a road, accuracy sucked but it did well with the 60 gr. bullets.
My Nephew has a AR in Valkrie as well and his barrel sucked as well, and he ordered a new barrel from Arthur Brown (Ebco). His new barrel shot awesome, so I put in a order as well and got a 24" barrel for mine and only took about 4 days to get here.
First thing I did was lap the barrel with compound Ebco sent along with barrel, which was a easy process and may lap it one more time at later date.
60 gr. factory ammo shot best in it, so I bought some 62 gr. ELD's to try and some CFE223 powder and just put a load together for it. My load was moving bullet along at 3200 fps. and grouped well right off the get go. I put thermal on the rifle and went out night calling coyotes to see how my load worked with coyotes.

The first 3 coyotes the bullet worked very well so I decided I would put more time into this rifle and get the loads more in tune as i had something to work with.
When Savage built this rifle, they put all the long-range stuff into it like trigger and gas block which is adjustable, so I don't have to go look for other things to add other than a sling, I like that.
I installed a quick release flash hider for the suppressor which is a flow through and goes well with a AR.
The gas block port was easy to tune so no big deal there.
I have lots of brass on hand to work with and plenty of bullets of varus weights but two bullets I have in mind is the 60 gr and 62 gr. ELD.
I need to get a chamber measurement for over-all case length so then I only need to trim when its needed according to my chamber.
Then I will also get a measurement for seating depth for two bullets I plan to use and go from there with what Mag will allow.
Brass has all been prepped and run through anneal machine, but I also want to get a bushing and size the neck down another .002 for consistent neck tension. Well, I'm off to reloading room. LOL
