.224 15 twist. What caliber?

I would do a 22-6MM AI with a 1 - 15 twist and shoot 50 gr Blitzkings at over 4300 fps. If you going to build a hotrod shot it like a hotrod. Anything in a 1- 15 twist is going to be fast.

I feel like a 55g Sierra semi point would work very well along with a Sierra 50g Spt, and Blitz.

A short throat 22 BR or 22 Dasher would do very well with this 15T.

22 Dasher is chomping on the heels of a Swift, and a 22/250 AI with zero freebore is in the running also if you are looking for a varmint rifle.

222 Rem. or 223 Rem. would be my only 2 considerations.

222 Rem. because everyone has a 223rem.

There are many good .224" bullets that will fly true through a 15" twist.

But if you choose to go with a cartridge that will spit them out faster than 3,000 fps, you might wanna avoid bullets made for the 22 Hornet for they are very fragile.

so I bought a Shilen .224 15 twist barrel but don’t know what caliber I should be looking at with being a odd twist in my opinion. What y’all think?
I started my benchrest shooting in the mid 90s with a W M70 Stealth in .222 `hang tag said it was a 16 twist. I started shooting IBS matches with it, load was w748 and 50 gr Nosler BT. I usually was the only factory rifle and typically finished just a bit lower than middle of the pack. I always felt the 16t was doing it for me. Would enjoy hearing how this plays out for you.

Yea I know I’m stuck with 224 I guess I should say what caliber with the heaviest bullet do y’all think would stabilize in a 15 twist without going to something crazy hotrod. I love the 222 rem but wasn’t sure that a 15 twist would stabilize 40 grained in the 222. Don’t have anything planned as far as shooting wise. Bought the barrel because it was priced right.
40 grain bullet's, doesn't matter which cartridge, i would go with 223 easy/smeazy long barrel life. Or just sell it to me !
