.223 F-TR Barrel Contour

Hello,
What barrel contour are most F-TR shooters using for the .223 Rem when building their rifles to maintain weight limit? The stock being used is a McMillan MBR stock no but stock spacers or adj. cheek,, Rem 700 SA and Jewel trigger and uses Sinclair bipod with adj. cant and elevation.

A Brux 30" finished tube will be used. What contour is common or recommended by those who know and use the .223 in FTR? Let me know when you can. Thank you.

David

A heavy palma is probably the most common contour used in F-TR in both 308 and 223. HOWEVER, I think you are asking the wrong question. The right question is, "what barrel contour do I need to make my rifle weigh 18 lbs?" Carefully weigh all your components with a good scale and then pick the contour that brings your rifle up to 18 lbs. Based on the info supplied, you can probably go heavier than a hvy palma.
