.223 black hills ammo question

I have a rra ar-15 and it shoots black hills 50grain v-max pretty well. groups are in the .600 to .750 range at 100 yards from a sandbag. i was trying to duplicate there load in my own lc 07 brass using 25.0 grains of h335 and a cci 400 primer with the same bullet.those groups were around 1.0 to 1.25. i had also loaded 10 with 26.0 of varget, all other things the same and the groups shrunk back to just over .5 inch. when i got home i pulled a bullet on the bh and weighed the powder charge at 25.5 of what appears to be h335.i know you can't go on looks just an observation. i also noted that bh had a slight crimp on the bullet, enough to crimp the neck about .002 thousands and the primers look just like my cci.i tried the same h335 load with rem 7 1/2 br,and winchester wsr primers and the groups were still in the1 plus range.does anybody know what kind of powder bh uses.i am going to load some more with varget for some more testing. but would like to see better performance from the h335. any ideas??????? any info or ideas would be great.

Change to Sierra 52 gr MatchKing bullets and 25.5 grains of H4895 and I think you will see the performance you want.

I use Fed 205M primers, but think your Remingtons or CCI's will work just fine.

:)

i'll give that a try travelor. i was going to get some h4895 anyway to try out. what about some tac. have you ever used it.it seems preety versital in the .223.
