223 and 80gr A-Max load help wanted.

I use Varget, starting at 23.5 gr.

This load is a compressed load of 106.7% @ 2.472" OAL (.020" jump) and a over max pressure of 58,005 PSI and 2835 fps @ 70* temp. (59,967 psi and 2860 fps @ 90* temp)

According to Quickload, out of a 26" barrel and using Horn 88 A-Max bullets, CFE223 will yield the highest velocities of any available powders. Loading to 2.504" OAL, (allowing .012" jam), and loading 24.7 grns. CFE223 powder, you should get 99.4% case fill, 54,677 psi pressure at 70* temp, and 2831 fps. For reference, at 90* temp, this load will be over recommended pressure (55,000 psi) and will yield 56,590 psi and 2861 fps.

Very much appreciated information. Next range trip I'll bring the Magnetospeed and see how fast they're running. Almost guaranteed to be much faster than book as this barrel seems to be very fast.
I'll also be comparing the 80 A-Max to 73 Berger and 69 Lapua Scenar L and logging all the speeds just for record keeping. Planning on some longer range shooting in the coming months, so I'll need to know which load will shoot well at long distance.
