.223 ammo box

What are you using for .223 ammo boxes when shooting 90gr bullets at 2.600+ OAL? Looking for 100 round boxes hopefully.
Thanks
Scott

I've been using old Federal .223 Rem. 80gr. Premier Match King boxes, they were made for throated Match Rifles, item XM223M1. The box is 2.850" inside, I know it's not what you wanted to hear but it's been how I've stored and transported them the last 4 years or so, thought the "new & improved" Lapua blue boxes were going to work but they are just right on the edge of being too small.

Maybe some one else has a solution

I use 308 Win size boxes (MTM RM50 in my case as I prefer 50-round containers) with a c. half-inch deep layer of soft expanding foam in the lid to help stop empties fall out of the partitions if you up-end the box. I prefer the newer type MTM hinged two-piece boxes, but the old single-piece unbreakable hinge type works just as well.

I like the MTM 60 as I shoot F class in Canada most relays are 2+15 like Laurie said for .308 size give you ample length for 90 vld,s in 223

I load a lot of .223 rem seated to jam (way long, especially using the VLDs) and use the MTM green box Caseguard 50. I don't mind 50 since I experiment a lot and need to keep the various loads separate. I also use the green boxes 100 pc. size for other loads in different cartridges and it seems like those boxes are more generous also.

The way I found out about the boxes I use for the .223 being just what I wanted was pretty strange-- I asked MTM..............
