223 AI

Wanting a 223, i sent an order in to Brad @urbanrifleman He called me up and said hey i have a 223 AI on the shelf i will ship this out and refund your shipping cost. I said i didn't really want another caliber to have to mess with forming brass in steps. He explained i could shoot my 223 brass and it would form no problem. Got an email stating it was shipped, this is number four since November of 22 Brad ! Stay tuned as i want to run 55gr and up for a PRS learning rifle. Yall will really like this one. I have xbr 8208, accurate 2520, sw precision with several different bullet weights i will be using.

Steve Timm from from Varmint Hunter Magazine was a very big promoter of the 223 AI . About the only thing he used for Prairie Dog shooting. Is he still around ??
Yea, he liked the 223ai.
I enjoyed reading his stuff back in the day, when he left The Varmint Hunter, that magazine went down hill quick. He was posting on 24 hr for a while but haven’t seen anything from him lately.

Steve was very interesting to talk with at the VHA jamborees.I enjoyed his articles too.He even had one of his favorite deer head mounts tattooed on his arm,yes he loved the 223AI

If you're talking about the 223 go gauge used for headspacing a 223AI, short answer is no.

With most AI chambers the standard go gauge becomes the no-go for the AI version. If you know how to compensate for the extra length of the gauge while headspacing, then yes you could use it. But it's safer to use the real thing if possible....and relatively cheap too.
