223 Ackley Improved reamer specs

I'm in the process of ordering a reamer for a 223 ackley and am looking for any input I can get as to what to order. I will be using Lapua brass as a mainstay and bullets ranging from 50 grains to 77 SMK. Anybody have any info on what neck to use for a no turn chamber as well as free bore figures to handle this range of bullets.

Thanks

Dan

My sons .223AI in 8 twist set up for 75-80 grain bullets has a chamber neck diameter of .252. Loaded Lapua brass no turn neck measures .2495 to .250. Freebore is .100. We started with 75 A-Max bullets and never played with the 80 A-Max as gun shoots very well. It was set up as a short and midrange BR rifle for local GH matchs and shoots bugholes. PM me if you want a reamer print. Never tried any light bullets in it either. They would be jumping quite a bit.

I have a .250 neck, Lapua must be turned but I use Winchester and LC brass for no turn. I have a .045 FB for 55-69 gr bullets works great. About 1.82 to ogive. Fire forming brass is very accurate.

I have a reamer on the way for the 75 amax bullet, it has .060 freebore, that might work with the 50gr. bullet.

My other .223AI is being set up for the 53 vmax and has zero freebore.

I turn my necks, so I won`t be any help with that...

I have a regular .223 Remington. My neck is .252" and FB is .64". I shoot the 75 grain Amax and they seat perfectly right in front of the neck/shoulder junction. I really like it.

I just mailed my PT&G reamer to my gunsmith, standard 223 AI, with a change to the neck diameter to .252 and .095 FB. 300-600 yd. prone rifle mainly 80.5 Bergers.

Neck dia. on all three of my 223 reamers is .254 at the top, .255 at the base. Throat specs vary. My 223Ai has no freebore with a 1 degree 30' leade .150 long. It works well with 40-60gr bullets. My sporter reamer has a .025 long, .2245 dia throat with a 3degree 10' leade .085 long(.110 total), works well 40- 55 grain bullets. The other is a standard sami specs reamer with a long throat and leade(.350 total).
I have never loaded any with 70-75gr bullets, but the sami specs reamer exceeds the OAL for magazines when the bullet is touching.
