Which reamer for 223

I am ordering a Krieger 223 barrel for varmint hunting, but may use it as a match rifle as well. Will be shooting mostly in the range of 60-75gr bullets, and it will be a 1-77 twist.

Anyway I have a choice of either the standard 223 reamer, or the match reamer. Main difference is the throat of the 223 reamer is 3 degrees while the match is 1 degree, and can accommodate longer bullets. Except for the rare time when I might need to single load longer bullets, if ever, all of my shooting will be magazine length.

Given that some bullets like to be seated closer to the lands, I was thinking about the standard 223 reamer versus the longer (shallower throated) match reamer, so I could seat bullets potentially closer to the lands at magazine length.

Any ideas?

Viperdoc: Load a dummy round with the first bullet of choice that you intend to use, seated to the length that you need, and you can have your own reamer cut to those dimensions. While you're at it you can also specify chamber neck dia.,( "standard", no-turn, or tight fitted), and chamber length. For my 223 Rem. reamers I prefer a .253" no turn neck using Lpaua brass, and a chamber length of 1.770", .010" longer than maximum case length, for the 223. A floating pilot reamer will cost approx. $138, and if you are sure you will have no further use for it, it can be sold for approx. 75% of your cost. I personally cannot see the reasoning behind paying $315 for a barrel blank, plus the cost of machining, using whatever reamer the gunsmith may have available. With your own reamer you get exactly what you want/need. ;)
