223 Ack Imp dies

I have a 223 Ack Imp barrel and a set of Lee Precision dies. The problem I’m having is when I resize my brass, I have to use a lot of lube to resize or the brass gets stuck in the die. I deprime and wet clean my brass before sizing. I have been looking for another die manufacturer who makes the 223 Ack Imp dies but can not find one. Does anyone know who makes them besides Lee Precision? I’m looking for a full length and neck sizer. I would like the body and shoulder of my die to almost match my chamber.

Redding makes all of their options (Body, FL, Full Bushing, Neck Bushing) in .223 Ack 40deg. I'm happy with mine so far.

I could not find them listed on Redding’s website. I’m a big fan of Redding dies...

I only use redding dies for 223 ai, yep they are a little tight even in redding dies.

On Redding’s site in there catalog under Series D rifle and handgun dies on page 16 of 44.

I have a set of redding for mine. Havent shot it in many years. I wouldnt have built it if lee was the only die maker

Dusty, when I built mine, Lee dies were the only ones I could fine. I dug my gun from under the “dust” this year after almost ten years of storage and was pleased with my results but I didn’t like how the Lee dies felt. So I think I’m gonna either purchase the dies from Redding or have Redding make me a set of custom dies to fit my chamber.

If you go this route, you might consider having Whidden make them. I think they will cost you less and you will get them much quicker.

I have Redding 223AI dies and would be glad to size some brass for you, just to see how they size in my Redding dies. Since the AI really doesn't make the shoulder grow much if at all, you can use a Lee Collet Die and neck size them (the parent 223 die works just fine with the AI brass).

Thanks for the offer. I just reloaded my rounds about a month ago, so as soon as I fire a few I would like to send you a few to size so I can make a comparison of the two dies before I order a custom die.

Be happy to. I also have a body die, so I can just bump the shoulder as much as you want. If they chamber after you fire them, I will size them to the same case head to datum measurement. Just PM me when you have some for me to size.
