223 75gn ELD-M and Nosler 70gn RDF

I have a PRS match in 4 weeks and I'm developing loads with 75gn ELD-M and 70gn RDF in for my Tikka Tac A1, 223, 8 twist, 24 inch barrel.

I don't have the experience so please chime in with anything that may help in your experience.
Currently doing a few ladder tests and have to test seating depth for the 70RDF with N140.

Lapua Brass
Powders:
CFE 223 - had a reasonable load but couldn't get it to group when tuning seating depth.
N140
N540
IMR 4895
I'm getting some RS52 also.
Chrono is a Magnetospeed v3

Does anyone with a similar setup have starting points for these powders?
Do they typically like to be seated long or short in your experience?

Thank you! Nick

I'm interested will be starting with the 75 soon also. Bartlein barreled tikka, I am curious as to what speed you achieve with your factory tikka 223 barrel also. Would really like to grab a 223 ctr when I can find one.
I have some N140 but I havent loaded anything with it yet.

I shoot a lot of CFE with 80-90gr bullets in ftr and it has always been more accurate than the other powders I tried. Start with 26gr and work up a ladder in 0.2 increments. I never experienced the reported temperature sensitivity, and interestingly info in this months nra magazine showed it was close to Varget.

Savage 110.
1:9 twist, 24" barrel.
Using Starline 5.56 brass.
70gr RDF 0.030" off the lands.
Alliant PP2000MR.

The RDF seem to like somewhere between 0.020-0.040" off the lands.

I run 8208xbr for my PRS 223ren TAC loads only really I run the bullet long is to stuff more powder in the case.

If you have a 1/2 inch gun and its somewhere in the 2950-3000 fps then stop doing load development and practice.

Practice build and breaks on a ladder standing, kneeling, sitting and prone. Also take a look at riflecraft.com and listin to his podcast the straight dope.

Either bullet you pick will be fine.

Juat an update on this.

IMR 4895 worked well with the 75 ELDMs

I ran out and because it's not reach compliant I can't get it easily in the UK. My usual supplier was away, perfect!

This was the week before comp so that put me in a position!

Was going to change to N540 as I had some data for it but didn't have enough for me and the missus to shoot and couldn't get that either!

That left me with N140 and Nosler 70gn RDFs
Had some data so started with that.

Turned out really well with a MV of 2950 and 0.35" to 0.45" groups.

Midnight before the match we finished reloading and the we had a great week and first match!

Now I can't get 70gn RDFs but I do have N540 and 77gn RDFs and I have 600 75 ELDMs to work up loads with.

Thanks for the input!

20” service rifle. Wolf brass. Cci 400. N140 24.4, 75 ELD-M, -.035.

Just shot a 196-8X with a sling at 600 yards yesterday on the MR target during an EIC match at Camp Butner, NC.

75 gr Bergers, Reloder 15, seated to touch the lands.
8 twist 26" Hart barrel
Stiller Predator V action.
I started at 22 gr and worked up to 22.8 gr of reloder 15. I went in .2 gr increments. My rifle has narrow powder nodes.
I could never get the ELD-Ms to shoot. Sierra 77 gr tmks and Lapua 77 gr scenar-l shot good too.
