223 75 amax vs 70rdf

question on my savage 12 bvss in 223, this gun for years shot the 75 amax good, i did not shoot it for a few years, so i got it out and i had some loads from the last time that shot good, they are not grouping well at 100yds as they use too, my normal load was 25gr varget,i loaded up some fresh loads and the same results, i did load some nosler 70 rdf and they shoot great with 24 varget, i know the rdf has some good bc, curious if anyone has compared these 2 bullets in a 223 at longer ranges, i had had great results previously with the amax at 500 to 600yds, will the rdf's make the trip as well as the amax as flat or will the trajectory be worse. for example the gun zeroed at 200 with a scope with 1/8 click value at 600yds it required 91 clicks. i believe the 75amax were averaging 2950 fps.

thanks

Could throat erosion be causing the recent issues with the A-Max? When my BVSS in 223 stopped shooting my favorites, I decided it was time to measure distance to lands and found my bullets were completely out of the case before touching lands. Took that barrel off and bought a Criterion in an 8 twist from NSS. And with that fell head first down the rabbit hole

with a G7 of .211 and 3000 FPS muzzle I came up with a drop of 79.1 inches or 12.6 MOA for the Nosler.

I tried the Nosler RDF and and did a limited test with CFE .223 but before I could do further testing the gun told me it liked 80 grainers with Varget so I never went back and did any more testing on the Noslers. Let us know how they work for you
