223 69gr Sierra MK load w/lc brass

Accurate Arms 2015BR is the powder of choice for my .223 - 52gr & 69gr SMK's. Read an article in FFG years ago with load info and a story of accuracy - spot on -this stuff shoots! Finding it , though, is the hardest part now that Sportsmans warehouse is closed. I picked up some 8208 but have yet to test it; hoping for the best.

I have used 69r SMK with 25gr of H4895, 25gr of Varget, and 25gr RL-15, 24.5gr of Win-748 with excellent results. Both my AR's will shoot 0.5 MOA or better from the bench with any of the above loads.

The Win-748 load took me from Marksman to Expert in Highpower. Went to 25gr Varget in 2006, then when availability became a problem, learned that the same charge of RL-15 and H4895 work just as well.

Here is my original test target with my AR from 1992.

Here is a target shot with the same load recently.

without any doubt, the go to powder for 70-80 grain bullet loads(berger vld) is the old standby VARGET/ NO doubt about the long range accuracy and the loads will shoot all day. 26 grains of Varget is the tops and you may want to see if less is more.
