223/223A and N133, R10x, AA2015 for 55 and down

AA2015 and R10x are my go to 223 powder for 55 and down. I also love N133 but it was too cost restrictive to get too excited about. I believe the Canadian made AA2015 is just as good and meters better. It is possible that R10x (the recent stuff) is just as good also and the three for me have been basically interchangeable in my 223 loads.

I fireform 223 Ackley (60 freebore standard Ackley reamer) with 25 grains of N133. AA2015, or R10x. All will shoot, without exaggeration, zero or .1 groups at 100 in my 14 twist Krieger and the shoulder will be nice and sharp. I use Lapua, LC. amd WCC brass. My absolute favorite bullet in the 53 Berger or the 52 Fowler.

I just bought 16 lbs of LT-32 at the urging of Bart, I think it is slightly faster. Should be excellent for 40 grainers for hopefully over 4000 fps in the Ackley.

I use R10x in three rifles...one in .223 and with the other two being 20 Practicals with very good accuracy and speed.
I was shooting 50 grain bullets in the .223 but have switched to 53 gr. v-max. The practicals are both 40gr. v-max.

R10x gets no respect. I have no idea why. Many people think it shoots "dirty". I think that people are confused between carbon and that defouling agent that Alliant uses in all of its rifle powders.

The new AA2015 is also just outstanding. Better than the old Czech version. I am surprised it hasn't picked up more PPC shooters.

I'm getting excellent results with H-335 with 40 gr. bullets. But, N-133 was almost just as good.

I am going to be trying LT32 with the 40s. I think I can get the 223A to over 4000 fps. LT32 is grain faster I think, so I should be able to get more in the case. H335 is about a grain slower than N133 I believe.

I use 24.5 for 55 grainers at mag length in my auto guns.

For my longer seated 52 match bullets in my 223A rifles that are seated out to the lands, I use 25 grains to fireform.

LC, WCC, and Lapua brass and CCI450s.

Got yer message ...I think you will be surprised with RL10x in the Practical.
I used it when the rifle was a .204 with very accurate results...give it a try.

I've been using the .223 AI for around 20 years. Great little cartridge. I've tried lots of different powders in it in over the years in an effort to get the very best accuracy and the best velocity. Benchmark has worked best for me. It meters very well, its very accurate and is not very temperature sensitive. Just a thought for you.

Another good powder. Bullet.com has it on clearance for $20 a lbs.
