222s, show yours

Heres five of my 222s. When I was young my Uncle had a Sako Vixen and once and a while he would let me and my cousins handle it. It sat in one of those gun cabinets that looked more like furniture with glass doors. He had some other rifles but that 222 always centered my attention. I think it was because of how small the action and forend was and for some of the shots he made with that rifle. I spent much of days when I was teenager reading every hunting magazine and firearms magazine I could. I won Grand Champion at the country Fair with my 4-H steer when I was in the eighth grade and bought the ADL you see at the bottom. I guess I’ve always loved 222s, accurate, no recoil and just plain cool. Got one? Share a pic, I’d love to see what’s out there.

Sako
Anschutz
Krico
Remington BDL from the 60s
Remington ADL from the 60s, it rode in every truck I’ve had since I could drive.

Wow very nice! Had not heard of krico before. Had to look it up. I personally don't own a 222, but you have me thinking I may need one.

Remington 700 BDL that I bought new back in the 1980s. 24.0gr H322, 40gr Nosler Ballistic Tip, Winchester brass, Rem 7-1/2 primer.

Shoots paper pretty good, too. I won our local season-long factory rifle BR trophy with it (24.0gr H322, Bruno 52gr FB). This is a 200-yard target, 2 shots per bull (not counting the .30 caliber crossfire on Target 1).

I’m sure there’s a lot of 222s in this crowd. The 222 was used quite bit in benchrest prior to the 6PPC, I don’t know the history but the triple deuce has a storied past, with the new cartridges popping up others have more star power but... I still like it a lot!

ADL from the 70's, loves 40gr SBK, 8208xbr, rem or win brass, cci 400's and by far the most accurate rifle i own, has put up a lot of fur in the past 25yrs.
My FIL has a 722 that he bought as a teenager, ugly as sin but boy does it shoot.

Here is a typical group that my remington shoots, that's a 1" dot and the group is 1/4" ctc, not bad for 3 shots at 100 yds

What nice bunch of rifles We’re seeing!

I have an old 788 Remington that I’ve had for a long time, shot the barrel out years ago. I ordered a Brux #5, McMillan stock and need to get it sent off to somebody who knows 788s, I’ve had these parts for 3-5 years. One interesting thing about this rifle is I had the factory barrel cut back for my sons and the bore is out of center, I included a picture. Never seen that before.
