i wondering if a .222 neck sizer will work on .223 case..
anyone have some input ?

Rich: I have numerous chamberings in both, you raised my curiosity and I just held the 2 case together side-by-side. Seems like it would work, although I never tried it. Why don't you get a couple of old, soon to be scrap cases and try it?

the thing is i need a 223 neck sizer which i haven't aquired yet an saw this ad for a comp .222 set w/ a fair price ... neck & mic.

You'll need to be careful not to bump the shoulder back on your .223 brass too far or you'll cause excessive head spacing problems and that will lead to case seperations. The body length of a .222 case is 1.265 where the .223 is 1.438. Other then that the shoulders of both cases are 23 degrees. So you should be able to neck size a .223 case with a properly adjusted .221 Fireball or .222 neck die.

I doubt that you'll be able to size much of the neck in a die thats a bit longer unless you trim the end of the die a little... other than that it shouldn't be a problem...

had to edit prevous post .. i tend to leave words out when rushing, what i meant to say was...

all i need to do is neck size it as for a bump of the shoulder would not be using that step at all..

The 222 press die will size 222 223 222mag.
Just be careful on the set up and don't push the shoulders back.
