.222 Remington Load Data

I found the following article in Handloader magazine. The article mentions the getting better results with the use of small rifle magnum primers vs non-magnum. I had read this years ago in an article by Lane Simpson I believe. I hope it is good info for someone.

Reloading the 222
The 222 was a case for release of the Remington 7 1/2 primer in place of the 6 1/2. Ken Waters pet loads has some data between the two and looks to be yet more evidence to support the magnum primer.

Interesting. I have seen very large extreme spreads in velocity when working with the 222, even when weighing every charge and using suitable powders. I'll have to give magnum primers a try. Thanks for bringing this up!

The local shop has CCI, Federal, and Winchester primers but I don't think I've ever seen Remingtons there of any type let alone the 7 1/2.
