.222 Remington help!!!!

I'm reloading for a Remington model 700 all factory rifle with a .253 chamber.I'm using Winchester brass and I'm resizing with Wilson bushing dies.I turned the necks due to one side being thicker than the other which made the neck walls .011 and a loaded round .246.Well a .246 bushing won't work and a.243 crushes the necks.,What bushing do I need and will it still resize the necks from a .253 to a .246,.245,.246 ect. with out crushing the necks? Thats about 0.008 differnce.Sorry for the bother with elemantry questions. Anthony L
On my 6mm BR I use a bushing thats 0.003 smaller than a loaded round. This is not working with the .222?

I have a 250 neck 222. When I turn I end up with a 248+ loaded round. I think you cleaned them up more than needed. I use a bushing 001 less than loaded, but have the next two smaller just in case.

Your best bet at this point is to just buy a Redding or RCBS neck die.
I've played the same game with a couple of 223's & a Fireball.
Save the bushing dies for tight necks, not fat SAMMI chambers.

Don't even mess with neckturning. Your factory chamber is very generous to begin with and neckturning won't get you anything except more clearance, which you don't want. You won't see any increase in accuracy. By turning those necks to where they are now - .007" under chamber size - the fit is even sloppier than it was. I'd put that brass aside and use new unturned stuff......call it a learning experience. Just buy brass, give it a good inside chamfer, then load it.

Absolutely agree with all of the above: neck turning for a factory chamber is a waste of time. Do the math: with the large diameter factory chamber neck,, most of the 22 cfs' I've measured have been .255"), the brass is still being worked .008" to .010". They will harden and split same as they would if using a conventional FL sizing die. Nothing is gained, except to create more slop in the neck fit.
