222 Lapua Loaded Neck Diameter

What is the current total neck diameter of a loaded round with 222 Lapua brass? I have some RP brass from a few years ago, and the total is less than .248 with unturned necks with ZIA 52.

I just measured the neck wall thickness on a brand new unfired Lapua .222 piece of brass with my ball micrometer and it measured right at 12 thou all the way around. That would put a loaded round at .224 (bullet) plus .024 (twice neck wall thickness for 2 sides ) equals .248.
Hope this helps.

The loaded outside neck diameter of my Lapua 222 match brass is .250. Older Lapua 222 brass that does not have "match" on the head stamp had a neck wall thickness approx .001 less than the match brass.

I get 0.2508" loaded round with Lapua "match" brass and Barts 52 FB. I agree the old Lapua .222 had 0.001" less neck wall thickness and was not of usual Lapua quality -it was outsourced.

I have also just received 100 lapua match brass and with a 52/53 Berger it measures .2507 and my new Hart (NY) will be chambered to .253 Gary

Point well taken...the brass I measured is several years old.
