222 Rem Mag AI Case Length

I have been a long time lurker here and have learned a lot of valuable info. I recently had a 222 Rem Mag AI built by Jon Beanland and it is my first journey into the AI/wildcat world. I have just finished fire forming some cases and when I measured them I noticed a variance in my OAL. I was using 2 brands of 222 Mag ammo to fire form, Nosler and Herters. The Herter's measured 1.862-1.844 and the Nosler was 1.842-1.836. Does anyone know the trim to length?

The parent 222 Rem. Magnum maximum case length is 1.850” with recommended 1.840” trim to length. I’d feel a lot better via finding the actual chamber length using Sinclair’s Chamber Length Space Gauge #749-000-811 for a 22 caliber, it’ll cost $6 (plus shippin’) and sacrificing a case.

the fired case oal will vary based on the mfg and the brass thickness/hardness when the AI is formed as the brass flows to fill the chamber.

once fired on my 222m (not AI) I trim to 1.845 and forget it.
