222 Mag

Mine have preferred Benchmark & CFE 223 for powders, behind a 50 to 53 grain flat base bullets like Sierra 53 match. Usually lit by a Rem 7 1/2 primer.

I have shot the .222 Mag quite a bit, and I Like 25.5 gr. of N133 and Barts 52 gr. FB. This load is very accurate as many prairie dogs can attest. James

Howdy !

Back in its hay-day, a great powder for use in the .222Mag was IMR4895 ( along w// 52gr bulllets ) for short range BR work.

With regards,

Benchrest loads 22.5 to 23.5 gr H 4198 or imr 4198 52 to 55 gr match bullets to Jump. also almost a full case of H 4895 all with a 7 1/2 or CCI br4 primer
Work up to these for your particular rifle.
good luck and have fun
