.222 mag brass value?

Chappy

Silver $$ Contributor
I found about 400 pieces of herters brass that appears about once fired. What a reasonable price to ask for the brass?

That old Herter's brass was made for them by Norma, good brass. With how scarce 222 magnum brass is currently and it being very good stuff I suspect if not in a hurry one could find a desperate buyer with more money than common sense to give .75 or more each. Just my worthless 2 cent opinion though!

Herters brass was made by Suenshametalverken in Finland. I don't know how one would ascertain brass is once fired, rather than more than once.

Not hardly...

The original Herters brass was made by Norma in Sweden.

Norma's address is:

Norma Precision AB
Jägargatan 2, 670 40
Ã…motfors, Sweden

Note the part that says "SWEDEN" on the box of ammo...

Seems like somebody is wanting to argue with just about anybody about anything today???? I didn't post what I did because I guessed, it was a hunch or I thought I had a 50/50 chance of being correct. I AM NOT an internet windbag who posts something for the sake of posting or attention!!!! I have read, heard of where Herter's got their brass for 30+yrs, never anything other than NORMA!!!!!

Sako and S&B also produced brass and ammo for Herters.

Well, well ,well. Look who reappeared ;D Thought you might have learned something by now Catshooter ::)

The box you show does not have Norma's name on it. Is it possible one of these Swedish brass manufacturers made it:

Norrhammars Bruk, Vulcan Tandsticks Fabrik, A.B. Svenska Tandsticks. There are a few others, but those should suffice ;)

Search again Whirlwind. You'll find that to be not quite accurate. I'm not saying Norma didn't produce SOME of Herters brass. Most of it was produced by the above name I stated. I suppose it's possible different cartridges were produced by different companies. Much like Nosler's brass. Norma also produced brass for Lapua. The brass is worth whatever amount of money someone is willing to pay for it.

Edit: After digging through my library, I found that FACTORY LOADED Herters ammo was produced by more than one Swedish company. Empty cases were produced in Finland and Sweden. Herters is now produced in Russia. Maybe the OP has brass from factory loaded ammo, and maybe it was empty brass ??? If I was wrong, I say I was wrong.

I've been shooting this brass for some time and who ever purchases it won't be disappointed. Very good brass, wish I'd bought more years ago. Still have several hundred rounds. Be sure to anneal it and it will last a long time.
