221 to 20VT Help

Any problems using once fired Remington once fired in a 221 Fireball and using for 20VT?

Problems?? IF you get a reamer with a .234 neck, you shouldn't have any problems.
NEW Remington .221 Fireball brass resized to 20 VT will be pretty consistent.
"Once fired" .221 resized to the 20 VT, the necks will be ALL OVER THE PLACE.
Been there, done that THEN got the proper reamer so I DIDN"T have to turn necks.
Better idea? Stick with the .221 Fireball and don't look back.

I haveused both new and used brass on a 232 neck. I had all my used brass annealed first, and after sizing I necked turned all my brass and it has worked well.

My advice is to just do a 20-222. Get it in a no turn neck . Better all the way around

No, not with using once fired Remington 221 Fireball brass.
Anneal it, size it. load, and shoot - No Problem.
If you have a chamber neck less than .232, you will probably need to turn necks for clearance.

There you are, back to needing to turn necks again. A reamer with a "little" larger neck will solve THAT problem. (I went with .234)
More time loading and shooting and less time messing with neck turning.

I have .232 neck chambers, so there is no need to neck turn.
On the plus side, the neck is worked less when sizing. When I get around to buying or rebarreling my next rifle in 20 VT, I will make sure it has a .232 neck.

If you stick with R-P or Norma 221 brass the will be .228 loaded round.
I've been around alot of 20VT and 221 R-P brass and none have been bigger than .2285 loaded

I sized down Norma 221 brass to 20VT and no need to NT. Worked fine in my .232 chamber. Rifle is a tack driver

Lots of good sage advice but I saw no mention of what dies you are using.

Once fired may or may not size nicely, depends on the chamber it was fired in. I went down the same road a while back. I would highly suggest FL size to the shell holder in a 221 die with decap removed so the expander does not swage it back up.
Now go to your 20VT die.
