221 question

I'm going to build a 221 FB because I have a lot of ammo ( brass Bullets and Powder ) from shooting XP100's pistols and going to Rechamber my 222 Rem XP100 rifle to 221 fireball . So if you are only shooting 52 grain bullets ( burger) what would be a good Free Bore ? I'm getting a new reamer 30 deg shoulder .020 fb and a 250 neck . I do all my own lathe work and with ammo hard to find , and being board , I need something to miss with .

Same here, I just grabbed another 100 Lapua 221 brass cases though. I‘m doing a 20 Fireball because I ran across the reamer awhile back. I recently purchased a Redding 17FB bushing FL die hoping it would have enough clearance for .20, no luck. I may contact JLC to see if it can be reamed so I can use it with .20 and .224. In hindsight I should have just purchased a 20 vartarg body die and surface ground .007 off a shell holder and used my Wilson 17mach4 neck die.

I have about 2000 Watson bullets that I have had for years ( And I have the need to shoot them ) I have a couple wild cats made off the 284 win case , but with powder hard to get I need some thing else to shoot . I have a old barrel 222 rem Mag Hart barrel that I can cut off and rechamber that will make a 24 " barrel and I know it is good enough for varmints . After I get done playing with that I may try a 20xFB .

Sorry I didn't mean 6mmx47 it is a 222rem mag barrel. I changed it on post 25 .
