221 fireball reloading ?

I am looking for some info on reloading my cz 527 221 fireball. I want to shoot 42 gr hollow pionts from Jams Calhoon. Does anyone have any suggestion.

Use your manuals and find a similar weight and work up a load.I use his bullets in .223 and .218 bee.I just pick a decent powder with a good load density and work up a load.Start near the bottom and dont hotrod till you see how your rifle reacts.

Thanks for the info. I also James Calhoon bullets in my 223 and 22-250. I am a very serious predator hunter and can not find a better bullet. Zero hide damage. Most of the time we can not even find the entry hole.

If you're going to shoot Mr. Calhoon's bullets, why not ask "him" for his suggestions. Most bullet makers have experimented extensively with their own bullets and are a prime source for the info you're looking for. Don't be bashful. I'm sure he would be happy to advise.

I started a thread on this topic a few weeks ago. Some good answers can be found at: http://www.accurateshooter.com/forum/index.php/topic,3754651.0.html
