221 Fireball… New rifle

I was finally able to get a 221 fireball rifle that I’ve been wanting for quite some time. I shoot a lot of 20 VarTarg and it seemed only natural to have a fireball along with it. It is a E.R. Shaw MK VII with a 24”barrel. Got the scope mounted and headed to the range to see what it will do. Had some Nosler 40gr FBHP Varmageddon ammo on hand. Got it sighted in and this was the first 3 shot group it fired. Now on to handloads.

IMHO the 221FB is so enjoyable to shoot in the under 55 grain weight, and it is efficient. In a heavier barrel I sling 15 or more shots before the barrel starts to heat up.

Love my xp100 I want a cz 221 fireball never had one in a rifle before fun to reload.

I always had great results with projectiles 40-50 grains. IMR 4227, Lil Gun and AA1680 also served me well

A 5 shot group that can be covered with a dime? Priceless!!
Wallet group of 5 shots that measures .110.
And pounding steel out past 400 + yards with a 10" barreled XP 100 bolt action pistol will put a smile on ANYBODY'S face.
As you may guess, I LOVE my .221 Fireball.

I have been shooting Nosler Varmageddon factory 2nd's 40grn FBHP ammo and I'm very impressed with the accuracy.

20VT....NICE buddy!

If that little Furball will shoot Nosler factory like that, you're most likely in for a very nice surprise when you start your load development.

Both my 20VT and my two Furballs both thrive on RL-7 and A2200.

The 20 VT and the Fireball will run on just about anything.
My Fireball runs on AA 2230 and AA 2460. Bug holes with ease.
