221 FB Lapua Brass...first timer

I just bought Lapua 221 FB brass to use in my new 221 FB.

I always read comments such as, "Just load them up and go shoot".

All of the pieces I have measure 1.400" +/- .005". I'm thinking I need to trim to 1.390" (221 trim length). 1.400" is the max length for the 221.

Thoughts? Anything else I should do?

I'm used to Win brass in which I trim, resize, correct primer pockets, deburr flash hole, debur/chamfer, etc.

Just load them up and go shoot!!;) Your chamber is probably .020 over Max trim length. That's how most chambers are cut. Best to measure yours so you know for sure, write that measurement down then refer to it when you "think" it's time to trim. Brass may shrink in OAL on the first firing to form to the chamber. Shoot it, measure it and know for sure before you even think about trimming.
If the fired brass rechambers with no problem, (without doing anything to it) neck size, prime, load and go shoot it.;)
