220 Swift 45 gr???

I'm looking for a fast accurate load for the Barnes 45 gr bullet. Already tried RL 15 & was not pleased with the accuracy. I'm shooting a 26" Ruger & getting great results with the 52 gr. Berger but want something faster & stouter.

I used IMR 4064 in my Swift with Sierria 50 gr Blitz. 38 gr gave 3800 fps it would push the bullet faster but at 4000+ the bullets would overrev and disappear in a puff of blue smoke about 30yds out. Hits on small varmits were spectacular. Made a shot on larger animal at 385 yds with 52 gr Nosler. Only shot ever made with the Swift that went completely thru a large animal.Swift forever.

It can be, and has been, chambered in short actions. But it's a tight fit and a long action is a better approach (especially for tipped bullets). The case is basically the same length as a 7x57 or 6mm Rem.
