220 ackley improved powders?

Have a 220 swift ackley improved with a 26 inch 1 in 8 planned on using a 62 grain Barnes ttsx. I have h1000, h4831, h4350, superperformance, imr 4064 and imr 4350 at my disposal already. Lets hear some opinions. Any input is appreciated.

I have a plane jane Sswift, that loves H1000. .With 55 and 60 gr pills. Hope that will help you. Tommy Mc

You can basically use .223 WSSM data. I believe your 220AI is larger than 22-250AI/.22 Creed and smaller than .223WSSM. I agree that H4350/H4831sc will be in the neighborhood for burn rate for lighter projectiles. A long barrel might be able to take advantage of powders like H1000, Retumbo and Re26.

AA2700 and WW760 are what I'd start with.

Good shootin'. -Al
Volumes in al's statement!!!

AA2700 has one of the coolest heat index of all powders made. AA2700 is what we have used in the 22/250 AI, 243 AI, and 6 Remington AI for a LONG time. Throat life was greatly extended, and Win 760 is our back up powder. CCI 250's reduced standard deviation down to low single digits.

I have a 23" Hart barrel, 22/243 AI 14T that I am shooting the 60g Sierra at 4000 fps, bug holes abound....AA2700 of course.

Sounds like 760 or 4350 are the way to go i forgot I had a pound of 760 as well they are pretty close together on the burn rate chart. Figured I needed to burn up a barrel at least once. Thanks for the feedback.

Got around to working a load up ended up running 44.4 grn of w760 with ttsx 55 gr boat tails rifle was a little finicky it ended up settling down to .75 moa for a 3 shot 100 yd group at 4150 fps plenty good enough out of a featherweight barrel. Thanks again for the input

Two years, lol we are on the same time frame with projects ;-).

Big over bores, have a 224 Clark. Just started working with it, looking more at 75-77 grain bullets. Figured a 220 or 223 WSSM should give me an idea of powders.
