22 x 47 loads

Can anyone give me some data for the 22 x 47 Lapua shooting bullets in the 70 to 75 grain range. Using a 1-8 twist barrel. thanks in advance

I shoot a 6mm wildcat of nominal 44gr case capacity.
This is in same case capacity ballpark as your inquiry.

My barrel is a 1-8 29" SS Broughton, w/ " 5-C " rifling.
The barrel is throated for 107MKs.

80gr Rem PLHP 40.4gr AA3100 MAX

85gr Sierra 42.0gr Data 85 MAX

85gr Barnes 44.0gr I7828SSC MAX

85gr Sierra 43.7gr I 7828 MAX *Accurate, 100% load density

85gr Sierra 43.7gr I7828SSC MAX *Accuracy load

87gr Hornady 38.0gr I 4831 MAX

87gr Hornady 38.3gr AA3100 MAX

87gr Hornady 38.6gr RL-19 MAX

87gr Hornady 40.0gr VV560 MAX

88gr Berger 42.0gr RL-22 MAX

88gr Berger 43.0gr Data 85 MAX

88gr Berger 43.7gr I 7828 MAX Accuracy Load

95gr Sierra 41.8gr RL-22 MAX

105gr Hornady 42.0gr RL-22 MAX

107gr Berger 41.5gr RL-22 MAX Accuracy load

All loads w/ FED LR Match primer.


This may give you a rough idea, for your .224" calibre.

For a similar-sized .224" calibre wildcat; my .22-35 Rem
shot these loads:

From a 28" SS 1-8 K & P .224"calibre 5 groove....

Load used was 40.5gr AA3100 75gr "A"-Max Fed LR Magnum Match.
This load gave 3,500fps honest.
Substituting regular Fed LR Match primer dropped load vel to
3,420fps; but shrank group significantly to become my accuracy load. This is 1-8 .224" calibre info, closer to your request.


From a 24" SS 1-14 Hart .224" calibre 5-groove.....
Load used was 41.2gr WW760 55gr SX Hornady Fed LR Magnum Match

Alternately, 55 "V"-Max 41.6 VV160 Fed LR Magnum Match.

41gr vv560 with 80gr SMKs works in an 8 twist.

any 22.-250 data would be a good place to start as case capacity is near identical

220 swift data seems to work well also. I think both have the same capacity and same pressure rating.
