+1 and you better place the shot. Just saying.I would suggest 50 to 75 yds max.
Bullet placement is the key.
Shoot them with, Winchester Hollow Points at, 20-30 FEET in the Head as, hitting one, past 50 Yards any place else, doesn't, Kill them,.. "Reliably" ( aka, humanely ! ).What would be the maximum range to kill coyotes (humanely) with a .22 magnum in a carbine/rifle length bbl ?
#2, What is the preferred bullet to slay Wiley @ these maximum ranges ? (I don't care about saving pelts)
Thanks !
Shooting a fox and killing them DRT and shooting a coyote and killing them DRT are two entirely different things. In my Annie I lucked out, it liked the Rem ammo with 33 Grain V-Max, accurate and deadly. Not yotes but plenty of large fox out to 100 and beyond.
No kidding, never said they were DRT and never said they were a Yote and any DRT shot with a 22 mag is likely a CNS shot.Shooting a fox and killing them DRT and shooting a coyote and killing them DRT are two entirely different things.
Scott
I didn't infer you said DRT. The DRT comment was in regards to the OP's statement of a humane kill, which on a fox is much more likely than a coyote using the cartridge he inquired about. That was my only point. No kidding, never said they were DRT and never said they were a Yote and any DRT shot with a 22 mag is likely a CNS shot.
