22 Tejas ?

Just watched a vid and the shooter said it was a 22 Tejas. Did a search online and here but found nothing. Anyone know anything about this round?

The 300 Tejas is an improved 300RUM with a 50° shoulder. Perhaps someone necked it down to .224? Was the rifle a short or long action?

Curiosity got me. Found a post on 24hourcampfire that said a 22 Tejas is a necked down 257 Bob or 7X57 blown out to a 50 degree shoulder. Don't know if correct or not but might be..

That sounds more practical. It wouldn't be too much different than a 22-6mm Rem. Ack. Imp.

Very good investigative skills, I couldn't find anything. Did they state anything about performance?

No. just a comment of what the cartridge is. Surprisingly little information on cartridge. Just plug 22-257 Roberts in a search engine to see if you find anything.

Another cartridge in that class is the .224 Texas Trophy Hunter. It is a 6MM Remington necked down, but not sure of the shoulder angle.

I love the 224tth. Its got the regular 6mm rem shoulder if i remember right. Its a real bad boy

It is a bad boy, launches 80 gr. bullets at 3,500 fps. It was designed by Ralph Lermayer a long-time freelance writer and Editor for Predator Xtreme magazine. It is throated for long bullets and this is what differentiates it from the standard 22/6mm. You are correct; they both share a 26° shoulder angle.

The 22 Tejas was developed my Brad stair performance guns you can find more information and a phone number play going to Performance Guns website.
