22 rimfire extractor groove?

I'm cutting my first rimfire barrel extractor grooves for a 2500X project. What would be the recommended feed/rpm for my PTG Anschutz/40X extractor cutter?
Used a cone in my previous Anschutz 2013 barrels, just a new approach and need info.
Thanks in advance!

If it's a high-speed steel cutter in 416 or 4140, 50 surface feet per minute(sfm) is a good starting point.
RPM=(cutting speed in sfm X 4) ÷ cutter diameter
In a situation like that, if running power feed I try to run about a half thou chip load per tooth, or a little bit less.
That's where I would start, and then go from there.

Use the above formula for proper speeds, heat is the enemy of HSS , keep it cool & well lubrication......at minimum interduce fresh cutting oil on a regular/ continues basis
