22 on 6.5/47 mm

what are your thoughts on this using 69 grain bullets for varmint hunting?i understand that it uses asmall primer so i thought this is about right from a shooting and accuracy stand point.am i right or wrong.also what twist is right for the barrel?
i have a shilen action that is now a 22 br.
gary b..

You'd be basically shooting a 22-250 30deg.ackley,why not just stay with a standard 40 deg ackley or standard 22-250

About the only heavy bullet that I'd personally use for varminting would be the 75 gr. A-Max. I really don't like all the ricochets that I get with your average hollow points.

Why start with the 6.5 x 47 instead of a 22-250? Easy, good brass.

I received a .22X47L reamer from PTG a few weeks ago. Haven't had time to do anything with it yet. Bought a Kreiger 8 twist barrel from Bruno's when in Phoenix last month and plan to chamber it first. Also plan to set back and rechamber an old 14 twist .22/250AI barrel later on for lighter bullets. Love the Lapua 6.5X47 brass. Vic

sorry was refering to 6.5x47,Lapua) 22-250 Norma).I have not had any issues with the Norma 22-250 brass in my rifles though. I anneal all my brass REGARDLESS of brand after 5 firings, and have had good success
