Not sure what kind of semi-auto match? but if want to shoot RFBR those two ranges have them.
if you meant ABRA is that organization still having matches? I haven't anything on matches for some time now

Lee

Just bench rest semi. I don't know what all the designations are but At 77 I don't do the running around thing. Lol Right now I do bench Silhouette

A coworker competes in one held at rio solado once a month. If you would like days held pm me and ill ask him. I just read about you not wanting to run arround. They do also have a 22 benchrest that an old coworker used to compete in. I talked to him a few months ago and he was skipping it this year due to lack of good ammo and prices.

Are there any 22 semi auto matches in the Arizona area? Looking to try something new. Thanks
BW64,
Lee was correct about Rio and BA, but they are Factory Class ARA matches. There are specific rules that the sanctioning body has in place for Factory Class. Both bolt and semi-auto can be used in the class, but again, you need to read the rules. Not many modifications can be made to the rifle. Type American Rimfire in your search bar and it will bring up the ARA website. Go there and click on rules. You will find the Factory Class rules there.

ABRA (Auto Benchrest Association) is kind of regional and I don't ever remember seeing matches scheduled out west. They are alive and well though. They have two semi-auto classes and two bolt action classes. Again, rules apply to all four classes. Type ABRA in your search bar to find their site.

Hope this helps......Scott

Thanks Scott. Read up on the rules & I'm stock except for trigger. Too bad nothing is close
Thanks again.

Phoenix area is too far away? Your original question said 'Arizona' area. Phoenix is pretty much in the middle. Trigger mods are legal in ARA Factory class. Rule 8.4.1.4.1. page 6 of the 2022 ARA rules.
Good luck on your quest.....Scott

No Phoenix would be fine but I couldn't find anything about semi auto. Just vintage bolt gun & p[istol. And yes I read the trigger mod rule.

Hey BW,

I doubt you will find any matches that are specifically for semi auto rifles in the valley.
That said, you would be welcome to compete in any of the ARA matches held at either Rio Salado or Ben Avery. There are semi auto rifles entered frequently.

Valley ARA match directors are:
Rio Salado MD is Frank Goff farnak48@yahoo.com
Ben Avery MD is Tom Racine tracine56@live.com

I do not know much about Phoenix Rod and Gun club on the south west side of the city. It's possible that PR&G holds matches at their range.

Come shoot with the ARA groups, great bunch of folks and we like fresh meat:cool:.
We had a match yesterday at Ben Avery. Super conditions and a fun time. Scores should be posted on ARA site tomorrow some time.

I see there is a match on 12/17 at BA. I'll try to come & observe if that's allowed.

BW,

I'm not sure about the next BA match, mostly because of the holiday's coming up. Contact Tom Racine tracine56@live.com for the info. He's the guy that does the scheduling.
Looking forward to seeing you at the next match.
