Listed is a Benchrest 22 LR Sporter that i had Clarence Hammond build for me in early 2000s It has been a safe queen ever since. Only been test fired . Never had a scope mounted on it. It has a Hall repeater action that is the one of the smoothest actions i have ever felt . It comes with 3 clips . It is on a Don Stith stock . Has a Jewel 2 oz trigger with bottom safety . Never been shot. The gunsmith test fired it only. It’s never had a scope mounted

It feels very smooth very east to switch

In the picture it shows the safety on, once you switch it to the front or fire position, it's totally out of the way. I had a rifle with that type or Jewell trigger.

Most shooters that are familiar with firearms and shooter slang wouldn't have the struggles your having figuring it out. Stick around here a while and pay attention , and you will to, then you won't be asking needless questions. It holds cartridges.

This is a very nice rifle, and a great price, I'm not a rimfire competitor or I'd be all over this. Hell if I didn't have a build in the fire right now, I'd buy it just because Clearance Hamond built it. That says a LOT! Hammonds didn't build second rate rifles! GLWYS.

FWIW, he was not known as a RFBR builder, doubt he built many.
As for safety, this gun was built as an IR 50/50 sporter class gun which, at that time, required a safety which was never used. Magazine required although most would not feed into a match chamber, everybody single loaded them shooting matches.
