I HOPE IT'S A 7 TWIST.Start with a reamer. then you'll need dies.
I've always said stick to an 8 twist with .224 cartridges that will move a 90 grain bullet in excess of 3400 fps. They stabilize and don't blow up. My 22-250 AI shoots them fine as well.1-8 twist will work just fine for the 90 grain bullets.. When the 22BR was popular shooters were using 1-7 twist barrels and 90 grain Bergers were blowing up pretty often. A friend switched to a 1-8 twist in his 22-250 Ackley and had no issues with the 82.88 or 90 grain bullets all were very accurate in the 8 twist.. the 22 Creedmoor is a very popular varmint cartridge here in West Texas I have been using Proof Research 8 twist barrels..

the gun is done. I need a place to start with load data. Sorry my bad.Start with a reamer. then you'll need dies.
I never considered looking at it that way.3300 fps x 12/7 tw/ ft x 60 sec/min = 339,000 rpm.
acceleration at surface of bullet
[339,000 rpm x 1/60 min/sec x 2 x 3.14] squared x .223/12 = 23,000,000 ft/sec-sec = 731,000 g
Seems high so if anyone wants to peer check to make sure I didn't screw up the units, I would appreciate it.
For comparison, a bullet accelerated to 3000 fps over 2 ft has an average acceleration of 70,000 g's.

Good point! I shoot a swift and now I feel as dumb as ever! I'll start with my swift data and play.withsome slower powderFWIW, as a starting place, if you can find heavy-for-caliber data for the .22-250 AI, that's basically what the .22 Seymore is.
In terms of case capacity, the old .220 Swift is in the neighborhood too.
There's this too if you don't mind digging for data off the internet.
we just got our 22 creedmore together a month ago and we are in love. first load we tried was a 80gr berger and h-4350 and got 3585fps and it shoots so good no need to look else where. this is out of a 28in barrel.I'm working on a friends 22 creedmore he wants to shoot 90g bullets does anyone have a place to start with this thing?
