22 Cheetah mark 1 load and info. data

I had some experience in the early 90s with the version of the CHeetah that had the 28 degree shoulder (I think that was the Mark II). Shot IMR4064 under 52gr Bergers. We drove those bullets to 4,200fps + ... it was an awesome varmint rifle. If I was doing it again today I, and was shooting 50-55gr bullets I would probably only use Varget.

Use a starting load for 4064 and work your way up in .5gr increments. You have any experience with this cartridge? New built rifle or new to you?

The CHeetah versions are both wildcats and as a result, there can can be varied and differing load information.

Cast you chamber to determine which version you really have.

Fireform a case with a small load of pistol powder and Cream of Wheat or grits. Grits is less oily and is easier to clean.

Leaving the primer in place weigh the fireformed case. Then add water to the top of the neck and re-weigh. Subtract to get the water capacity of your case from the rifle's chambers.

Drain and dry that case then seat the bullet of choice just into the case neck and chamber that combination in your rifle. The rifling should push the bullet back into the case allowing you to measure the length to the lands or the OAL. If seating is difficult, expand the neck or cut a tiny vertical slit in the neck using a Dremel tool and cut off wheel to relax the tightness. Seat a bullet and measure.

Post information so we have something to work with.

If this is just a cartridge under consideration without an existing rifle, I can and do suggest using the .22 Creedmoor which has been accepted by SAAMI and has commercial components and data.

Not familiar at all with this caliber. I just picked it up it was built by Sid Goodling

.22 is the caliber which denotes the barrel bore/groove diameter.

.22 CHeetah is a cartridge.

Follow the directions I wrote out above.

Regards.
