22 BRA 500 yard test

What's the size of the dots? 4"? Just giving your chain a jerk.... :)
That is one heckuva narrow powder node.

I’m gonna go back and revisit my seating depth and then once I get that narrowed down and recorded I’ll test neck tension. From there I’ll be done hopefully.

Will you use bushings or turning to adjust neck tension? I’m still trying to find powder nodes and seating depth adjustments so that is out of my league and over my head.
Thank you in advance.

Yes I’ll test the neck tension with bushings. Once I turn my Brass I try not touch the outside of the necks once fired. I do have an inside neck reamer I’ll use after about the 10th firing to cut out the tight spots.

Good to know. Thanks.

Nice shooting James.
Where did you get the inside neck reamer?

Joe

I had Wilson custom grind me one for the Wilson trimmer.
I believe it’s a .2243 and I ream the inside necks after firing before sizing. This allows to remove any tight spots and also cut out any donut that forms.

James, were you able to get out and tighten it up even more?

No I haven’t, the weather has been crappy and I had to take care my father who had to have knee replacement surgery Friday.
Once the weather breaks I’ll get back at it.

Theoretically you slow the powder down as you decrease bore size.
Example
30 BR shoots powder in the 4198 burn rate
6 BR shoots powder in the Varget burn rate.
So the 22 BR should work best using the 4350 burn rate. Then add case volume as improving it the slower powder helps even more.

4350 was amazing in my 22BR. I use 8208 right now for the only reason being it’s easier to load.

33+ grains of 4350 in that case and she’s very full.
