what do you concider the best powder for 50 to 55 grain bullets.have used 322 but feel there are better today.

Howdy !

I had one of the first .22BRs around, back in the '70s.

I used IMR4895, which is a proven temp stable powder; under both 52 & 55gr bullets.
Mine had a 22" SS 1-14 5 groove Hart.

These days, H4895 might deserve a try ?

If varmint shooting, I would suggest AA2520 and a 53Vmax. You should get around 3825fps. My barrel is a 1-12" twist and 23.5" long

Im using varget with 52 berger 1-14t

ww748 works good for 52's start at 28.0 grs and work up. really close to N133 burn rate and you can usually find it on shelves
save my varget and n133 for better struff

It was suggested to me to use H335 for longer throat life.

I think you'll be hard pressed to do better than N135. I've been shooting a 22PPC lately, and 135 does well in that too. IMR8208 is good too.
