22 BR Feeding

Does anyone know how to get a 22 BR to feed consistanly ? I'm starting with a Remington action , stock and bottom metal haven't been ordered yet.

why worry about feeding ?

put a s/shot adapter plate in....

toss a rd in the chamber & close the bolt......

Why have a repeater and use it as a single shot ? I'm building a light recoiling varmit rifle that may need fast follow up shots, so i need it to feed. Anyone know any tricks to get it to feed ?

Every heavy varmint rig I built is on a Savage s/shot action....

you'd be how surprised how fast you can reload the rifle

in fast shooting p/dog action in the field.....

I got tired of my Bryant conversion not being 100% reliable or smooth enough to suit me so I ordered a Wyatt's mag box and a BR mag. It will allow me to shot all my BR cartridges from 20BR to 30BR and being it a single stack mag it should feed with 100% reliability, I'll know soon.

i bought a custom action for a 22brx build and love the thing! trying to get cartridges to feed smoothly was impossible. the leaf spring was WAY too strong. the pressure required some hard pushing on the bolt to get one round out and chambered. polished everything to no avail. finally attacked the problem...the spring. took it out and with my pliars compressed each spring angle until tension was reduced to the point that now three rounds slide out as if greased! i am happy!

oops. tried squeezing the angle of a rem 700 223 spring and BROKE the thing! was able to rube goldberg it and it works...actually better than before i broke it.

My Rem 700 feeds pretty good with the mag mod, but it doesn't want to eject at all, just drops them on the follower.

DanS: had the same problem with one gun. i removed the ejector from the bolt using the sinclair rem 700 bolt maintenance kit and now the case is extracted and held on the bolt face where it is easily removed and replaced with a live round and with a little practice i can be pretty quick. the tension in the spring pushing the ejector against the base of a chambered round is producing an angular torque to the case. most custom chambers are tight and if the case is resized minimally there shouldn't be any slop due to this slight pressure. i was amazed at the feel i get without the ejector when pushing the shoulder back using a bump die...the firing pin and spring are removed with the rem 700 bolt maint kit also.

Yea I've done that with my 6BR.

I was kinda wanting a repeater. Funny thing is It will eject if I use another bolt from a different rifle, but the headspace is wrong with the other bolt.
