22 BR-DX

Anyone running a 22BR-DX. I just bought a reamer on the classifieds and need any info I can get. I'm fascinated with the idea of shooting 80 -90 bullets at speed.

Don't know if this qualifies but I am running a .22BR with 75 A-maxes. 22" barrel right at 3000. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. My go to powder is 8208 with CCI-450 primers. Here's a pic. ;D

Can you bump shoulders with the Whidden die?

Yes, the Whidden BRDX die is a full-length sizing die with neck bushings. I use a Whidden die for my 6mm BRDX. The die is very high quality, with good internal fishing. For 6mm shooters, the matching Micrometer-top Whidden 6 BRDX seating die has very precise gradation and is very smooth in operation and produces straight ammo.

Good lookin' rig, Paul and love that scenery!

Thanks Racesnake. It is one of my favorite hunting places in the high desert of SW Idaho.

Merry Christmas Guys

I get around 2950 from my 22" barrel. I can push them a little faster but it likes 2950 for accuracy. ;D

I am using IMR8208. Very stable from summer to winter. Hands down the best powder in my .22BR's after 15 yrs. of messing with this cartridge. Hope it works for you, if you give it a try. :)

Paul, some of our readers want more details on the gun: How does it group? What barrel brand? Do you turn necks? How long is the freebore? How does it perform with lighter bullets? Chamber neck diameter?

Hey guys,

The barrel is a Lilja 8 twist with a .248 neck dia. and a .025 free-bore. The gun will shoot if the nut behind the bolt is on. Here's a 5 shot group with the 40 A-max. All smithing and suppressor work done by me. Thanks for the interest. ;D
