Got a 22 br on a rem 700 action. Who makes good bottom metal with reliable feeding? I bedded a stockys stock for it.

All my 22BR rifles are single shots however, I shoot a 6BR hunting rifle with a Hawkins Precision Hunter DBM Bottom Metal and their Hunter Magazine with the short action spacer kit that rifle has "Zero" feeding issues. Cycle the bolt fast or real slow and there are no issues feeding the bullets (70grn to 105grn bullets). I haven't tried any lighter/shorter bullets in that gun.
Just for fun I tried cycling(feeding) three of my 22BR loaded ammo with the 62grn VLD-VT bullets(COAL 2.282") in the 6BR rifle with the Hawkins Hunter setup. It cycled three rounds with no issues.
Years ago, I had a Remington 700 with a RemAge 6mm Dasher barrel with a M5 bottom metal and the Primal Rights 6BR AICS conversion kit in the AICS magazine. Long heavier bullets worked fine; however, lighter/shorter bullets wouldn't feed. In my opinion, longer overall length BR family cartridges were the key to smooth feeding in a 700 Rem action.

you didn’t say if the stock you bedded needs M5 AICS metal or BDL metal. The MDT 6BR metal mags feed every 22 dasher or 20-22-6mm GT rounds I put in them in an MPA chassis, MDT chassis or in hawkins bottom metal. If you need BDL metal I would look at Hawkins.

Thanks. I thought maybe one 6br specific . I use the normal follower magpul aics mags they feed pretty good. Might try one of those

I like that it points the nose of the bullet into the chamber. Feels smoother running the bolt.

MDT mags feed perfect as well. I have the 12 Rounders. I like the 5 round Magpul for off the bench and hunting.
