22 Arc

Wanting to buy/build one and I'm not your ar style guy so i want a bolt action. Any recommendations? Also what type of suppressor is ran on this type of round?

I like your style! - starting off - you will need a .445" boltface ( same as a Grendel ) action. Aero Precision Solus ( .445" not out yet but coming ), Zermatt Arms Origin, ARC CDG actions come immediately to mind.
Any .22 centerfire suppressor will work.
Have fun.

I bought a Howa mini barreled action in 6mm ARC and have a McGowen barrel on order (couldn’t get the factory pencil barrel to shoot to my standards). The Howa mini is great for all AR-length rounds. Wish it took non-proprietary mags however.

The Ruger American is supposed to come out in 22ARC soon, and takes AR mags.

Otherwise anything made for the Grendel will work with a 22ARC barrel.

Could go the savage route. I have been thinking about 6arc bolt gun for awhile. The Howa mini makes the most sense to me mainly because if I'm going to use a standard short action might as well be a 6 creed.

Do you have any specific requirements or applications in mind? Do you have a budget that you're trying to stay within? I've day dreamed about building a custom bolt action rifle for more years than I care to admit. I sat down last year and priced the individual pieces. Regardless of caliber, and trying to only spend money where it could make a difference, my price tag was in the $3k to $3,500 range. A big part of the cost is driven by the fact that I want to use a Rem 700 clone action so that I can use a good 2 stage trigger. If I went with a Savage, the price was quite a bit less but I gave up the ability to have a 2 stage trigger.

The Rugers have been out for awhile. I saw one at sportsmans 3 or 4 months ago.

I run Zermatt origins/SR3s in 10 rifles and swap barrels frequently depending on bench, big game hunting and varminting…

I just got my 22 ARC 22” 7T Shilen barrel this week from James at Northland Shooters (using the ARC/PPC)… it was dark last night so only got to shoot 30 factory eld 75 gr rounds. I’ll work on handloads this weekend, but it was shooting sub .5 minute (couple @ .1/3 or less) at 100 yards last night after I got the first 10 or so down the tube.

I’ve got a friend that has the Ruger gen 2 and his is shooting real good for him with 62 eld-VTs the new hornady bullets and CFE223. He’s an older gentleman so his standard of accuracy isn’t what it used to be but he’s still getting 3/8-3/4 MOA at 100 yards… in a factory rifle loaded to mag length.

As far as suppressor goes anything will work fine I’m sure. I really like my otter creek hydrogen S but that’s all preference.
