Anybody heard of the new 6.8 Rem SPC being wildcatted to 22 caliber? 22 Thunderbolt??

40+ years too late, the original is the 22 Lidahl Chucker Rimless. It's a 22/6.8 with a 28° shoulder.

You're right. And the original Wasp, the 220-25, same cartridge with a 30 degree shoulder. Not 40 years ago but more like 70. It's hard to come up with anything new.

Ray,

Remington missed a perfect opportunity to bring their own .20 cal to market. A .20 cal that would feed from a magazine and shoot the 50's at 3750 fps. Instead Roy Winnett and his 20 PDK beat them to it.

At least they are finally bringing the 17Mach4 aka 17 Fireball to market.

I think Remington should have introduced the 20VarTarg over the 17FB. Their VSSF's and Model Sevens would surely be an instant success! Instead, Remington has conterdicted it's own cartridge lineup gaining nothing. The 20VT is superior to the 17M4 in performance with the exception of recoil, and with the lighter bullets being introduced this spring the 20VT gives up nothing. I will always own and shoot 17M4's and 17Rem's, but that 20VT in my humble opinion is THE ticket. They missed the mark with the 204Ruger instead of the 20/223 Pratical and now the 17FB instead of the 20FB!
