.22-250 to .22XC chambering questions

Question for Urbanrifleman primarily. I have a 9 twist Schneider barrel that I chambered in .22-250 for my AR-10. I originally wanted to do this in .22 Middlestadt but with an up-coming prairie dog hunt scheduled, ran out of time and pressed the easy button. The.22XC looks ideal. My question is, is the neck/shoulder dimension on the XC shorter than on the .22-250? I have not been able to find a reamer drawing for the .22XC. I would like to re-chamber with out setting back as a set back would affect gas port location which, at 17" is already ideal for these cartridges. This barrel has about 1300-1500 rounds through it and although a little fire cracked, the throat is un-eroded. Also, where did you get your reamer? Manson is close to me but they don't list the .22XC. Only PTG showes a listing. Any info would be appreciated.

I would think the shoulder dimension between the 22xc and 6xc is the same so you could look at that print instead. The shoulder is shorter than a 22/250 Picture left to right

Manson has my drawing. You can make the freebore whatever you require.

The 22xc has a .293 long neck. Same as a 22br. Longer than a 22-250. The shoulder dim is shorter but the case capacity is closer to a 22-250 ackley.

Thanks for the replies. DLT, I had seen a similar picture but couldn't quite tell if the neck/shoulder junction was shorter.

Urban, thanks for the confirmation. I'll probably just shoot this barrel out and do the XC next time. Good to know on the reamer. I've only bought from Manson once but on the phone they seemed genuinely interested and helpful.

I bet a 22xc would be soooo sweeeet. I have 2 savage rifles that needs barrels. One just might be that. I would build it for hunting but I know me I’d have it out there banging steel at 500 and try to make it a long range gun lol

It is.

I got my Red Elisio out of the safe and I will be testing 22xc with the 62 eldvt here very soon.

I sized all my cases and primed them with Rem 7.5 primers. I think I'll try my R23, since I don't have a 243 any more. Maybe I can fill the case and stick in a bullet. :)
