Could someone tell me if its true that you can shoot other calibers in a 22-250 rifle. Thanks for all your help and I really appreciate it

Not sure how to reply based on how you have worded your question. If you are asking if you could drop lets say a 308 into your 22-250 and shoot it the answer is a resounding no. If your asking if you rebarreled your action could you shoot other calibers the answer is yes. The bolt face for the 22-250 is the same as a 308 and many many other cartridges. As long as they are short action cartridges they will work just fine.
Who ever told you that ? I would think twice about maintaining that relationship
Thanks so much guys for your replies a guy on another fourm was saying you could shoot a 223 out of a 22-250 safely.
I would like to see that.... from a distance.
I sure hope he never tries it, but if he does, then I hope no one is standing anywhere near him.

First, it would be highly unlikely that the primer would line up with the firing pin due to the difference in chamber size.
Second, in the unlikely chance that the extractor would somehow hold the case and keep it centered, if the cartridge fired it would try to expand to fill the void left by the chamber size difference and most probably blow the case head, which could cause a massive release of gas directly into your face.
As mentioned by BillK, never shoot any ammunition in a firearm unless it is clearly marked for it. No substitutions (other than .244 Remington and 6 mm Remington - same cartridge, just different loading/rifling twist rate specs.)

A good example of why one should always look over what a number of people have to say on the subject if one doesn't know anything on the subject. It is clear that whoever said that (in the same context) is completely ignorant on the subject and worse, gave out information that could get someone maimed or killed.
Yes you can, with a chamber insert or adaptor.
You can get chamber adaptors/inserts to shoot many different cartridges in rifles. Common are 22LR in centerfire chambers. There any number of sub caliber adaptor for German drillings and combo guns.. They were pretty common 50 years ago. Some of the German ones have extractors in them.
These guys will make just about any insert or adaptor your looking for. One of their stock ones is a 22 Hornet in a 22-250

@ Jeff,.. The extremely versatile, .22-250 Rem Cartridge can be, HANDLOADED from, .22 Win Mag Velocities up to, "Borderline" .220 Swift, Velocities !
NEVER put, any other Cartridge in, the Chamber, tho (Unless having the proper Adaptor as noted above ! ) The .22-250 Rem can EASILY be RELOADED to RE-produce, .223 Rem., Velocities, IF, Reloading for it.
I reload, the Sierra, Flat Base, 50 grain S P Bullets to around, 3,200 FPS to produce LIGHT ( .223 like ) recoil, so I can see, the "impacts" on, G squirrels and Sage Rats, in my scope ! For Coyotes, I'll push, the Nosler 55 Ballistic tips to, 3,700+ FPS and listen for, a loud "Plop" ! I Love, the versatile .22-250 and, I'd never be without, ONE !
