looking for what works with the heavier bullets in standard 22-250 rem. cartridge in my 100- to 300 yd gun . 8 tw barrel . i got 75 gr hornady eld and 75 gr bthp match . also 80.5gr fullbore begers . any loads worked up off anything heavy i would be appreicate . or just a mention of the powder your using and bullet .thanks in advance .

Winchester Staball 6.5, Hornady 75 grain BTHP. I didn't find load data for this particular bullet. I ran some ideas through Gordon's Reloading Tool. At 40 degrees F my velocities were about 4to 6% higher than predicted by GRT. I stopped working up when I hit 3,310 fps when 3100 was what was predicted. No pressure signs. Very low SD and good accuracy.

But, mine is Ackley Improved so there's that. Hodgdon does publish data for 22-250 and Staball 6.5 so I think you will have results similar to mine.

I have had good luck with H4350 and H414. With those bullet weights in my 8 twist 22/250 Ackley's. RE-22 with 88g it's a 7 twist barrel on that one.

thanks guys for all the info . i have 5 lbs of 4350 h also an ample supply of R 16 and 4831H and IMR. from what i have read that should get me going . thanks alot mike burns

I used H4831SC in an AI with an 8 twist. Shot fantastic for 10 to 12 shots of a match. Then no bullet would stay in one pc because of the barrel heat.
